Death of Ex COAS :  Northern Group Condemns Call For Removal of Chief of Air over  Plane Crash

Group under aegis of Northern Consensus Movement has described the call for removal of Chief of Air Staff,Air Marshall Oladayo Amao by the president of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Solomon Adodo because of the aircraft crash the killed former Chief of Army Staff as in Kaduna as “unwise”.

The group in a statement signed by its President , Comrade Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu said, “Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Oladayo Amao is one of the best Pilots in Nigeria today, he is known to be a team player an administrator per excellence, and a professional Soldier.”
However ,the Northern Consensus Movement which said , ,”Regrettably there were Aircrafts crashes in the past before the emergence of Amao as Chief of Air Staff ,noted, “It  should be noted that no leader will ever wish to have anything bad happen under his watch, just as every father will never wish anything bad for his household/family.
According to the group ,  it will be unfair and unjust to call for the Removal of Amao at this trying time/period of our dear Nation.
“Our investigation revealed that, the Chief of Air Staff has already constituted a committee to look into the remote causes of the plane crashes, to recommend if need be a structural re-organization of some sectors of the Air force as well as any other thing that will enhance the performance of the Air Force personnels. It is on this note that, we are calling on all Nigerians to support the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) in taking the civilized way to get to the remote causes of the Air mishaps that have so far consumed the life of professional aircrews in the Nigeria AirForce.

“Perhaps, we hope and pray the present insecurity bedeviling the country will soon come to an end as we call on all the security agencies to work in synergy with each other so as to end the shedding of blood of the innocent citizens in the country.”
